               Line clearances
Before commencing any filling and labelling operation, the line should be
thoroughly examined following a standard operating procedure to ensure that all
materials, product, labels and records from previous operations have been
removed, the person responsible should initial the batch record to show that this
               check has been carried out.

The line should be clearly labelled to show the product (and strength of product)
to be packaged. Any label counters or code readers should be tested to verify
               that they are working correctly.

Labelling and packaging material should be carefully checked to ensure that they
match the descriptions in the batch packaging records.
