A Word from Kayla

Try Something that You Could Possibly Fail

How often do you find yourself setting only attainable goals? The ones that you

               know you can achieve.

I could and should set a goal for submitting my reports on time every month. Is
this goal attainable? Absolutely. Is is healthy to set goals that you know you will
               be able to accomplish? Absolutely.

Should I also set goals that will be super difficult to achieve, and I stand a high

               chance of failing?
                               Abso - Freaking - Lutely!!!!

Life is not easy and there are times that the goals you set for yourself, or the plan

you have in your mind is not going to work out, and you are going to FAIL. And
you know what? That is OKAY.

4-H'ers...did you hear that...it's okay to fail!!!!
Parents...did you hear that...it's okay for your kids to fail!!!!

Mind you, there is a difference in failing because you were being flat out lazy

versus working hard and it still not working out for you. There is a tremendous
amount of healthy learning that takes place when you work hard at something but
               you don't accomplish your goal.

My challenge to you this year is to try something that is hard, that there is a high
risk of you not attaining that goal. Because, if you do and you are able to reach the

goal, it's super rewarding, and if you don't...learn from your mistakes and try
               again.

Oh and parents...don't interfere. There's going to come a time where you are not
going to be able to help them. Stop digging them out of the trenches.
