This is 40!

Where are all of my March babies?

This month I will hit one of those milestone decade birthdays and celebrate my 40th. "What"
you ask, "I thought you were only 28", you say. I know! I can't believe it either, I will be 40.

All joking aside, I'm pretty excited. When I look back, I do have a few should've(s) but all in all I
am very happy.

So here's to my 40th...
I have a family that I love dearly. One of my should've(s) is spending more time with my
Dad before he passed, so from me to you, don't take any day for granted.

I am in the best shape of my life, both physically and mentally...some might argue the
mental side. This was not the case, 3 years ago. I made some very drastic decisions because
I want to be around for Adam and Thaxton for many, many, many years. Be mindful of what
you put in your body and what you subject yourself to. We are not invincible, and it will
catch up with us. If not for your own health, do it for those that love you.
I still love learning. Fortunately I don't really have to worry about my grades anymore, but I
forgot how much I love being a student. I'm currently taking a nutrition class, and I love
that I get excited about what I'll be learning next.
I am short 5 years of spending half my life as the 4-H Agent here in Parker County. Now I
hope you consider that a blessing, I guess some might consider that a curse, but I genuinely
appreciate my time here. I was recently reflecting on 4-H'ers that have graduated, and wow,
I have truly been in the presence of greatness.

So to the wrinkle free, fresh faced 25 year old in that picture, I say to you... Not every day is
rainbows and butterflies. Stay true to yourself and your program, and all will be well.

And no, Kathy is not taller than me.
