Livestock Judging Practices - If you plan to attend the livestock judging practices listed above please CLICK HERE to be put
on the communication list. 4-H’er must be 8 and in the 3rd grade and up to attend.

This section is dedicated to our hooved livestock species. Our Ag Agent and Project Leaders across the county can offer
some guidance and suggestions for you in this area, but there are not regularly scheduled project meetings. You need to
consider livestock more of an independent project. There is not a 4-H project barn to house livestock projects nor is there a
4-H project trailer to transport livestock. Both would be the responsibility of the exhibitor. If you have never shown
livestock, our recommendation is to experience county show twice, prior to venturing into the major stock show realm.
Pardon the pun, but major stock shows are an entirely different animal and can swallow newbies whole. If you’re wanting to
pursue a livestock project, give our Ag Agent, Charlie Martin, a call (817) 598-6172, prior to the purchase of any livestock,
and he can tell you the good, the bad and the ugly. Please note, there may be age requirements at shows. It is the
responsibility of the exhibitor to review the rules of the show to make sure their age is eligible. Of course, you may always
contact our office and we can also go over age requirements.
