Johor Bahru, Johor
Just as the technology driving the Internet has spread to
smartphones and smart technology, the smart innovative revolution
is destined to spread to larger communities and countries. By being
able to better monitoring and secure our city for people, we can
reduce car-dependency, which will help resident to achieve greater
independence and a higher quality of life. And that is just one thing.
Johor Bahru are known as one of the highest dependent of car use
in the city because the lack of modes of transportation, not-well
connected pedestrian walkway and also lack of green area.
Johor Bahru is symbolically the public space for most of Johorean.
However, some of the land use located at the edge of CBD and are
not well-connected between each other which weakens its status as
a central public space. Most of the area is mostly open space,
making the environment unbearable under the tropical climate of
Malaysia. It just, not all the area are green area and those area are
not accessible by walking. Also, with the lack of safety and security,
it make walking more inconvenience to Johoreans. The question is,
when people cannot use the space according their will, how could
this space be a proper public space?
