Reliable detection for iron and
aluminium with Omron E2EW
Manufacturers in the automotive industry are striving
to meet the demand for electric vehicles and low fuel
consumption by building lighter-weight vehicles and
favouring aluminium over iron. As the prevalence of
mixed production lines containing both iron and aluminium increases, the demand for same-sensing-
distance proximity sensors with suitably long sensing ranges is also on the rise. The new E2EW
Series from end-to-end automation solutions provider Omron is designed to address this need. They
have been designed to withstand harsh conditions typical of welding. Read more here
Icotek KEL-DP offers time and cost
saving cable gland alternative
Foremost Electronics announces new additions to Icotek’s

protection IP65 / UL type 12. The new products fit standard metric M25 and M32 cut-outs and,
depending on the model up to 13 different cables can be inserted through a single gland. The
KEL-DP range can accommodate cable diameters from 5.2 to 8mm. Read more here
Software development kit for CC-Link
IE TSN reduces development effort
The fieldbus stack from engineering services provider SILA for
Modbus is currently actively used by a broad user base.
However in view of growing industrial communication
requirements, this older protocol which does not yet have real-
time capability is becoming unsustainable. By developing a new solution for the development of CC-
Link TSN-enabled components, SILA wants to pave the way forward for its customers. SILA has
been a full member of the CC-Link Partner Association (CLPA) since September 2019 because it
considers the open standards to be of growing importance in the industry. Read more here
