                                                                     Rod latch system simplifies
                                                                     multi-point locking
                                                                     The new Dirak rod latch kit from
                                                                     FDB Panel Fittings makes short
                                                                     work of installing a multi-point
                                                                     rod lock door closing
                                                                     mechanism, together with a
                                                                     standard quarter-turn latch,
                                                                     offering 2 or 3 point gasket pull-
                                                                     down for medium to large enclosure doors. The simple clip-and-cam fit
                                                                     operation suits dual round or flat rods mounted within the gasket sealed
                                                                     area – or externally. The rod latch mechanism offers a high level of closing
                                                                     convenience and strength in just one closing process. A full complement of
                                                                     quarter-turns, rods, rod guides and cams are available with a grounding nut
                                                                     to ensure earth continuity through the mechanism and door.

                                                                     This new sensor delivers precise and direct measurements of three forces
                                                                     and three moments without calculation at very high resolution even under
                                                                     the most demanding operating conditions. The use of large-area quartz
                                                                     discs make for a very rigid sensor with a high natural frequency of 18kHz
                                                                     and low crosstalk of better than ±3.5% for highly dynamic force and
                                                                     moment measurements, especially when very small moments and forces
                                                                     are being measured.

                                                                     Lubrication-free spherical polymer
                                                                     components replace metal bearings

                                                                     Heavy dirt accumulation, dust and swarf
                                                                     are commonplace for pillow blocks and
                                                                     fixed flange bearings. Constant lubrication
                                                                     and maintenance are therefore necessary.
                                                                     But this does not always have to be the case. Igus has developed
                                                                     lubrication-free alternatives using spherical components made of the high-
                                                                     performance plastic iglidur J, which can be fitted in a fabricated housing.
                                                                     The use of polymers prevents dirt and dust from settling in pillow blocks
                                                                     and fixed flange bearings.
