deadly. False positive readings are what happen after the test when
they say, “There is no sign of cancer and you are cancer free,” then
three months later you find out you actually have stage 2 breast cancer.
These false positive readings account for 1 out of 5 patients that
actually have cancer and mammography missed it. Scary! Imagine you
decide to fly on an airplane only once per year, like your mammography
test, and what if your chances of that plane falling out of the sky was
also 1 out of 5? How much confidence would you have in flying?
On the other end of the spectrum, due to mammography, last year the
New England Journal of Medicine reported that in the USA, over
1,300,000 women were diagnosed as having breast cancer and went
through devastating chemotherapy and mastectomies only to find out
they never had cancer to begin with. Imagine those poor women and
what they went through. Should you trust this type of diagnosing or
treatment?
That is only one of the many problems with this test, besides
radioactive exposure, painful compression of breasts, and possible
spreading of cancer cells. Thermography, on the other hand, is much
more beneficial and can provide accurate results sometimes years
before the formation of a tumor. In thermography, which can be used
for breast or whole-body scans, the scanner (through a heat signature
produced from blood flow and inflammation) will show clearly where a
possible tumor is forming or has formed. Thermography can identify
inflammation years before cancer is detected, allowing you to repair
the damaged locations well before a prognosis is even thought of.
