I Stand Guard over thee
My Own World
SWAPNOMIT ROY , IX /X
Sahana Chatterjee, VIII/IX
Hear ye, my country,I, your soldier;
Your protector,
Sometimes I enter a world of my own,
Stand guard over thee.
My wild imagination beyond control.
With weapons in my hand,
Love stories full of sorrow and wars
Oh! My dear motherland,
without a tomorrow,
I stand stiff.
galaxies and planets which remain
Your name, runs through my veins,
unexplored.
As I, your son,
Scripts and treasures hidden in the sea,
Stand guard over thee.
Legacies, ancient re-explored.
I stay awake,
The mistakes made, the stories told,
In the longest nights,
The treasure maps and skeletons
To stand guard over you.
centuries old.
To protect innocent souls from
I wish sometimes, more often than not,
Devastation, so that they
To make their glorious world my own.
Can sleep in peace, whilst I stay awake
Suddenly I hear a voice that’s calling,
And stand guard over thee.
which disturbs my awestruck gazing,
I am ready to lay down my life,
at the million shining stars.
I am ready to let go.
Reluctantly I return to reality,
If it means you are safe,
promising to return soon to see
I am ready to have my head severed,
the many moons on Jupiter and Mars.
And my soul split into a million pieces,
If and only,
It means you are safe.
Oh! My dear motherland,
You are safe in my hands.
