East Cork Harbour Marathon, Half-Marathon and 10k Road Races
A big thumbs up to all of our members who took on the various distances in a wet Aghada last
Saturday. A big shout out to the resplendent Trevor Cummins, who was 3rd man over the line
in the 10 km event, having ran alongside the legendary Catherina McKiernan for a spell, who
then showed him her heels over the latter portion of the race. There ain’t no shame in that,
    though!

“I have to thank the gracious Catherina McKiernan for allowing me take 3rd spot on the po-
dium, as I actually finished 4th overall behind the former Olympian who was happy enough to
take the honours as first lady home.
When she arrived on my shoulder around the 7 km mark we both agreed that we might benefit
from each other’s company for the rest of the way home. That was until about 400m later
when she absolutely burnt me! Still, a long overdue PB and some nice memories to take away
from a good day will do me fine!”
