The Great Island Bake Off

Earlier this year, Cork County Library received Government funding to put in place
an inclusivity programme for marginalised people and groups in our communities.
The staff of Cobh Library put our heads together to come up with an idea to bring all
sectors of society together and we came up with...

                                     CAKE!

As a celebration of our amazing community in Cobh, we will be hosting The Great
Island Bake Off on Saturday 2nd November at 2.30PM (poster attached).

We have two categories – adult and children (under 16 years old) and some great
prizes! The winner in the adult category will receive a €40 voucher for Sea Salt
    Cafe, with 2nd and 3rd place receiving a €30 and €20 One4all voucher, respectively.
Prizes in the children’s category are One4all vouchers to the value of €30, €20 and
    €15.

Two guest judges will be here on the day to taste all of your bakes – our own ver-
sion of Paul and Prue but without the steely blue eyes and massive necklaces!

Please spread the word among any bakers you know. We would love your support!

To enter, email cobh.library@corkcoco.ie or call us on 021-4811130 to register your
bake. Drop your entry in to us on the morning of the Bake Off (promise we won’t
taste test until after the competition starts!), then join us at 2.30PM to see and
sample all the entries. Judging will take place at 3PM and our winner will be an-
    nounced at 3.30PM.

Of course, you don’t have to enter anything to come in and enjoy a slice of cake and
    a cuppa J

This is a FREE event and all are welcome!

Well done to Ava, Ballymore Cobh A.C. - Juvenile & Little Athletics Sec-
tion, our sole representative in the Munster Juvenile Cross Country Championships
in Limerick on Sunday. Ava came through very creditable 27th (girls U12) out of a
huge field of 160 athletes in very testing conditons. The little lady with a big heart
and a bigger smile, brilliant running.
