Rushbrooke Tennis Club

    Rushbrooke Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club are delighted to announce that the clubs
    annual “Open Day” will take place on Sunday 19th May at 1pm-5pm. Everyone
    across the Great Island, East Cork and other neighboring areas is invited to come
    along and experience what RLTCC has to offer the whole family.

    Lots of fun to look forward to on the day with Tennis, Croquet, Lawn Bowls and
    maybe some surprises also. We hope to see as many people as possible come out
    and check the recently upgraded facilities now available to all members. Mark the
    date!!

    Congratulations to our junior members who won event in Lower Aghada East
    Cork Open. Well done to Ava, Harry, Hillary , Ethan & Joe. Hillary Walsh, winner to-
    day in the GD14 Wins also for Ava Chandler & Jack Raftery in the Conolation singles.
    Ethan O’Brien & Joe kelleher were R-ip in the BD16. Well played all
    We would like to wish the best of luck to club member George Rasmussen
    after he was selected for the Munster Un17 Rugby squad. Well done George and
    hopefully we will see you back out on the tennis courts soon.

    Well done to Jim Hickey on winning the DIL Croquet Challenge event. Thanks to
    all who came along and played and welcomed in a new day on the lawns. Thanks
    also to Colm Mc Donagh (Cobh Gifts) sponsor of the winners prize.

    Very well done to all the u18 squad who collected funds among themselves and
    made a donation to Pieta House as their nominated charity at this evening’s Youth
    Awards. u18 Captain, Cian Lynch presented a cheque to Paschal Crone who is in-
    volved in the Cobh Darkness into Light group.


    Girls & Women’s Rugby is making a comeback in Cobh!

    We are looking for girls aged 10-14 to join us for a taster programme starting Mon
    20th May 6pm. This 6-week programme is FREE to participants and will be run in
    line with the IRFU-led GIVE IT A TRY GIRLS campaign.
    Parents, please contact Charlotte or Kelly to sign your daughter up and ask us any
    questions you may have! Our aim is to set up a Girls Underage section this Septem-
    ber at the club. If you know girls (of any age) interested in playing rugby, please get
    in touch! Senior Women’s team pre-season starts in July!

    Hard luck to the u16 team, who narrowly lost out today in the Cup Final today
    against Midleton in a 10-5 scoreline. However massive well done on a tremen-
    dous season, qualifying for the Munster Cup knockouts, winning the South Munster
    League and runners up in the South Munster Cup. Well done lads on your commit-
    ment, hard work and development over the season ! Cobh Pirates are very proud
    the way you have represented the Club and yourselves ...great season lads!
