Fitzy’s double delight for Wanderers
Cobh Wanderers 3-1 Leeds
Wanderers picked up three valuable points at home to Leeds today. Two goals from Brian
Fitzgerald were the key to the win. His first came after 21 minutes when he got a foot to a free
kick at the far post directing the ball to the net. Dave Stack doubled the lead in first half injury
time when he followed-in to finish after his own penalty was well saved by the Leeds keeper.
Leeds pulled one back after 56 minutes when their winger on the right got to the end-line
before pulling the ball back for the in-rushing forward to slip it past Power to the net. Fitzy
completed the scoring on 73 minutes with a bullet header meeting a cross at the far post.
