FORMING SUPERLATIVES
There are different rules for forming superlatives depending
on the ending of the simple form of the adjective.
ADJECTIVE
SUPERLATIVE
If the adjective For some adjectives ending For adjectives ending
ends in “-e,” in “-y,” the “-y” is removed consonant-vowel-consonant,
“-st” is added. and “-iest” added. the final letter is doubled
and “-est” is added.
