Domaine Cherrier et Fils
The Cherrier family has been an
independent producer in Sancerre
for three generations. They hold
25 acres of Sauvignon Blanc
plantings and 2.5 acres of Pinot
Noir and are also among the best
producers of the famous goat
cheese, Crottins de Chavignol.
Today, the domaine is run by
father, Fernand, along with his
SANCERRE son, Sylvain, and daughter-in-law,
Sancerre is the most recognizable appellation for French Sauvignon Blanc in the Loire Valley. Monique.
Almost all of the appellation lies on the left bank of the Loire, opposite Pouilly-Fumé. The
region’s rolling limestone hills and semi-continental climate deliver richly textured Sauvignon Domaine Delaporte
Blanc wines with ripe gooseberry aromas, bracing acidity, and flinty-smoke flavors. Domaine Delaporte is a family
business that has been passed
from father to son since the 17th
century. The domaine is found in
the beautiful village of Chavignol,
which is renowned for the goat
cheese Crottin de Chavignol.
