캔버스에 붓으로 뜨개질하는 행복한 화가

그림을 그린다는 것은 화가의 생각을 담아내는 것이다.
어릴 적 엄마가 뜨개질로 옷을 만들어 주셨던 따뜻한 기억으로 시작해 많은 시간이 지난 지금까지 꾸준히 연
구하고 그리기를 반복해 완성된 많은 작품은 내 생각 주머니와 같다.

“뜨개는 사랑이다.”
이 사랑은 우리가 삶을 살아가기 위해 꼭 필요한 근원적 에너지라는 의미를 작품에 담은 뜨개질 무늬로, 세상
을 살며 느끼는 감정을 표현하고 이런 작업 과정은 생명체가 잉태되어 태동하고 성장하는 자연의 원리와도 닮
았다. 한 올 한 올 캔버스에 뜨개질하며 그리는 과정은 나에게 놀이며 치유이고, 소망이며 축복이고 사랑이다.

내 작품 속 색의 겹침은 오랜 시간이 축적된 결과물이며 끈기와 노력이 없으면 불가능한 작업으로 이것은 보
는 이로 하여금 시각과 촉각으로 느낄 수 있도록 하는 의도적인 표현 방법으로 집중해서 바라보면 착시현상을
불러오기도 한다.

내가 바라는 행복한 세상이란, 상대방을 배려하고 서로 아끼고 사랑하는 선한 마음이 우리 모두에게 내재되어
행복한 세상을 살아간다는 믿음과 사랑의 에너지가 세상을 환하게 꽃 피울 것이라는 생각을 작품에 담아 묵묵
히 작업을 이어가고 있다.

A Happy Painter Knitting with a Brush on Canvas

To paint is to capture the artist’s thoughts.
Beginning with the warm childhood memory of my mother knitting clothes for me, many completed works,
born from continuous research and painting over a long period, are like my pouch of thoughts.

“Knitting is love.”
This love, meaning the fundamental energy essential for us to live our lives, is expressed through the knitted
patterns in my artwork, conveying the emotions felt while navigating the world. This creative process also
resembles the natural principle of a living being conceived, quickened, and growing. The process of knitting
and painting, strand by strand on the canvas, is for me play and healing, hope and blessing, and love.

The layering of colors in my works is the result of accumulated time and a task impossible without
perseverance and effort. This is an intentional expressive method meant to be felt by the viewer visually and
tactilely, and when observed intently, it can even create an optical illusion.

The happy world I envision is one where the belief that we all live in a happy world, with inherent good hearts
that consider, cherish, and love one another, and the energy of love, will make the world blossom brightly. I
