존재의 부재가 떠오르며 슬픔과 아픔이 밀려오지만, 이내 살아있는 존재에 감사하며 안녕을 기원한다.”라는 고백처럼 임현주는 낙화를 생의 소
멸이 아닌 생의 생성으로 인식한다. 화면에 그려 넣은 음표와 악보, 그리고 무지갯빛 화려한 색채의 이중주로 그 마음을 표현하고 있다.
결론적으로 임현주의 낙화 시리즈는 꽃이 떨어지는 찰나의 아름다움, 그리고 그것에 의해 발현된 이중적 감정을 즉흥적으로 표현한 자기 내면
의 세계이다. 어떤 형식에 얽매이지 않은 솔직하고 자유분방한 표현으로 삶의 여유와 자유를 한층 넓게 펼치고 싶은 유희충동의 분출이다. 자
신의 마음을 치유해 준 자연 이치가 타인에게도 치유의 희망으로 전달되기를 꿈꾸는 무지갯빛 색채로 그린 마음 일기이다.

색채와 형태에 대한 독창적 이론을 펼쳤던 현대 순수추상 미술의 선구자 바실리 칸딘스키(Wassily Kandinsky, 1866-1944)는 감정과 정신적
인 경험을 표출하는 예술적 수단으로 일찍부터 색의 중요성을 강조했다. ‘색을 피아노의 건반으로 표현하며, 색의 조화는 인간의 영혼을 합목적
적으로 움직이게 하는 법칙에 근거한다’라는 지론을 통해 특정한 대상의 재현 없이 형과 색만으로 ‘예술적 영혼’을 표현할 수 있다고 했다. 이는
색의 조합이 조화로울 때 인간의 감정과 정신을 움직이는 힘이 있다는 색의 예술적 원리를 강조한 말이다.
임현주의 작가노트 중에 이런 글귀가 있다. “나의 영혼, 나아가서는 다른 이의 마음과 영혼을 자유롭게 하고, 살찌울 수 있게 하는 좋은 음식 같
은 그림이 되었으면 한다.” 작가라면 누구나 품을 수 있는 큰 희망이다. 이 희망대로 특정한 자연현상을 집약시킨 상징적 색채로 누군가의 마음
을 움직이게 하는 임현주만의 무지갯빛 색채원리가 이번 전시를 계기로 새롭게 구축되길 기대한다.

Lim Hyunju's Falling Flowers, the healing of profoundly colorful emotions

In the process of experiencing beautiful moments, humans feel an urge to pursue harmony between theme and form. Through
this, humans grow into more free and complete beings. The impulse of play sometimes promotes emotional and intellectual
development in humans, allowing them to understand the world with a broader and deeper perspective. It also empowers self-
development. Even without aiming to change society, form artistic discourse, or be evaluated as objects of aesthetic value,
a painting can be an object of play in itself. It is also a happy thing for a painter when a painting becomes a time and tool for
healing oneself.

The fact that an introspective painting becomes a source of support for oneself before becoming an object of empathy for others
and helps with internal growth is meaningful in itself.

In conclusion, Lim's "Falling Flowers" series is the spontaneous expression of the fleeting beauty of flowers falling and the dual
emotions manifested by it, representing the inner world of self. It is an outpouring of the playful impulse to expand the leisure
and freedom of life through honest and unrestrained expression, unconstrained by any form. It is a diary of the heart filled with
the hope of bright colors, hoping that the nature that healed one's own heart will also be conveyed as a positive message to
others.

In Lim's work notes, there is a quote: "I hope my soul becomes a good food like a painting that can free the hearts and souls of
others and enrich them." It is a great hope that any painter can embrace. It is hoped that Lim's principle of bright colors, which
moves someone's heart with symbolically condensed natural phenomena, will be recreated through this exhibition.
