• The Partnership Relationship Manager will handle
any funding requests directly with Network Partners
as appropriate.
• Ensure all interactions with Network Partners are
recorded – both your approach to them and their
response. Include this information on the funding
application form, or the debrief form, or let your Hub
Leader know.
LOCAL INDUSTRY & BUSINESS
Within your own farming networks or local community,
there will be businesses that want to give back to the
industry.
There will be businesses and organisations who already
sponsor things and have a profile in your farming
community or region.
There are others who don’t and may not have been
asked. They may not know about DWN and what we do
for farmers in their region.
Before approaching a business, check with your Hub
Leader that there is no conflict of interest. Your Hub
Leader will check with the Partnership Relationship
Manager as required.
When approaching local businesses, consider what you
will say about the following:
• Who you are - your farming background and history
with the region/town (and if relevant, remind them
that you are a customer).
• Ask them about their business - if they are sponsors
of other things in the community, acknowledge this.
If not, ask them if they are or if they have thought
about doing something for community groups.
