You can create several paragraphs of text as a single multiline text object. With the built-in editor,
you can format the text appearance, columns, and boundaries.
To create multiline text
1. Click Home tab Annotation panel Multiline Text drop-down Multiline Text.
2. Specify opposite corners of a bounding box to define the width of the multiline text object.
If the ribbon is active, the MTEXT ribbon contextual tab displays. If the ribbon is not active, the In-
Place Text Editor is displayed.
3. To indent the first line of each paragraph, drag the first-line indent slider on the ruler. To
indent the other lines of each paragraph, drag the paragraph slider.
4. To set tabs, click the ruler where you want a tab stop.
5. If you want to use a text style other than the default, on the ribbon, click the Annotate tab,
Text panel. Select the desired text style from the drop-down list.
6. Enter text.

Text Styles
All text in a drawing has a text style associated with it. When you enter text, the program uses the
current text style. The current text style sets the font, size, obliquing angle, orientation, and other
text characteristics. If you want to create text using a different text style, you can make another text
style current. The table shows the settings for the STANDARD text style.
To set the current text style
Click the Annotate tab Text panel, in the Text Style drop-down list, select a text style.

3.30 TOOL PALETTS
Tool palettes are tabbed areas within the Tool Palettes window that provide an efficient method for
organizing, sharing, and placing blocks, hatches, and other tools.
To display the Tool Palettes window
Do one of the following
1. Click View tab Palettes panel Tool Palettes.
2. Press Ctrl+3.
You can create a tool by dragging objects from your drawing onto a tool palette. You can then use
the new tool to create objects with the same properties as the object you dragged onto the tool
palette.
