P. 3

INTRODUCTION

This is the Strategic Plan for Play Works for the 5-year period 2024 to 2029.

It has been produced by the organisation’s Board of Trustees and their staff team,
supported by an external facilitator from Community Enterprise Ltd.

The Plan draws on the history, ethos, experiences and knowledge of the charity to
provide context and analysis on where it came from, why it exists, where it is now and
         where it should go.

This Strategic Plan will be supported by a number of operational and action plans to
         detail its delivery and targets.

                                        CHAIR’S FOREWORD

I am delighted to present our Strategic Plan for 2024 to 2029. This lays out, clearly
and concisely, who we are, where we come from, why we do what we do and

what our priorities are for the next few years.

The creation of this Plan has involved extensive analysis and evaluation of our
activities, impact, stakeholder feedback, staff creativity and Trustees’ aspirations.
It continues our evolution, with refreshed branding, and reflects our journey from

humble beginnings, to one of West Lothian’s leading Third Sector organisations.

We clearly identify each of our business streams and our vision for each. It builds

on our strengths, knowledge and experience, to maximise our opportunities for
success and ultimately, impact for our customer groups.

The Plan pinpoints our key strategic priorities of staff retention, growth and
having a strong brand and will be supported by more detailed delivery plans, to

         guide our associated activities.

Finally, 5-years is a long time in any sector and we are committed to annual

review of this Plan, with a full evaluation and updating after year 3.

We are all excited by what we aim to achieve over the next few years, as we
embark on our next chapter and I look forward to seeing the results.
