Baseball offers long-term disability insurance and life and accident insurance—benefits that protect your income, and
your family, in the event of your disability or death.
Disability Insurance – UNUM
The long-term disability plans provide you with income when you are unable to work due to an illness or injury.
LONG-TERM DISABILITY
The LTD plan provides 60% of your monthly salary, up to a maximum of $10,000 per month. Your disability benefit
payment will begin after you have been disabled for at least 90 days. Benefits are payable as long as your disability
continues up to your Social Security normal retirement age (or longer depending on when your disability begins).
There is also a Return to Work Incentive. If you return to work during the first 24 months of your disability, you may be
able to earn up to 100% of your pre-disability income even if you do not work full time. LTD benefits may be reduced
by income you received from other sources, such as Social Security, Worker’s Compensation, pension plans or other
group disability plans.
