Conditions were foggy at the time, but there were no details as to the cause of the crash. There were no further details on injuries to occupant or occupants in the vehicle. Cold cases revisited by Reedley Police

The Reedley Police department is revisiting several cold cases in hopes to generate new information to help solve them and bring jus- tice to the victim’s families.
“In some way we believe that they are linked,” said Joe Garza, Reedley’s police chief on the after- noon of Dec. 9. “That’s really what we’re looking at, we are looking at people who have information on all three or people who have specific information on each individual case.”
The cases date back to June 2018 with the shooting death of a 26-year-old Reedley man named Cesar Frias.
Frias was found shot to death in his vehicle in the 600 block of Abbott Court in Reedley. Neigh- bors in the area said they heard multiple gunshots that night and found Frias struggling to breath in the drivers seat of his car.
“We’re a relatively tight-knit
little cul-de-sac here,” said Adam Juarez.
Juarez lives just steps from where Frias was found.
“We don’t really talk about it much. I mean three years have passed, but I mean it’s definitely something we’re going to share forever.”
Juarez said the night of the shooting was a Friday night. He planned to have a glass of wine on the porch of his home with his wife. He was inside his kitchen when he heard the shots and then ran outside to see what was going on.
“We [neighbors] were all in the middle of the street out here,” he said. “Talking, trying to make sense of what happened, trying to figure out whose car that was and why it was idling near my house. I walked up closer and closer and saw what I saw, I backed away and called 911.”
Investigators believe the per- son or persons who shot Frias were also involved in a March 2019 at-
tempted murder of two individuals in the 900 block of Springfield Av- enue. The two subjects in that in- cident were injured but not killed.
Nearly a year later, in Novem- ber of 2020, in the area of N. Kady Avenue near Manning Avenue and a busy restaurant, police believe a high powered assault rifle was used to shoot at a male subject in the area.
The man was injured but sur- vived his injuries.
“This information has launched a new investigation combining these violent assaults,” Garza said. “The Reedley Police Depart- ment is asking anyone with direct or indirect information that can help with the arrest and prosecu- tion of these violent suspects.”
Anyone with information on these cases is asked to call the Reedley Police Department at (559) 637-4250.
  SHOOTING Continued from page A1
“The suspects then confronted a neighbor who had exited his resi- dence after hearing the gunshots,” he said. “One of the subjects fired mul- tiple rounds in the neigh- bors direction, some- where around 15 to 16
rounds were fired.”
The neighbor was not hit by the gunfire. Ac- cording to investigators, several other witnesses saw a white vehicle, pos- sibly a white Nissan Alti- ma or Nissan Versa leave the area around the same
time of the shooting. Sanger Unified School District administrators
also spoke during the press conference.
“It is with great sad- ness that I am here,” said Adela Jones, Sanger Unified School District superintendent.
“She was a student with Sanger Unified since kindergarten, and talking with staff today, they remember her as a quiet, polite young lady who loved art.”
Jones said a crisis re- sponse team was made available for staff and students.
Anyone with informa- tion on the case is asked to call the Sanger Police Department at 559-875- 8521.
