Knights 12U take gold bracket in Tulare tourney

The Orange Cove Knights 12 and under softball team captured first place in the Gold Bracket of the Get Ready for State tournament, held this past weekend in Tulare. The Knights defeated the Visalia Rockets, 12-0, to finish the tournament with a 5-0 record.
The Knights softball team is made up of players from Orange Cove, Reedley, Orosi and Dinuba.

The Reedley Little League 12-year-old All-Stars’ bid for a District 10 championship came up one game short on June 28, as the Madera National All- Stars pulled out an 11-5 victory at Camacho Park in Reedley.
Reedley had forced a deci- sive game with a 5-2 victory in Madera on June 27, setting up a winner-take-all scenario be- tween the two teams. Madera advanced to the Section 7 re- gionals tournament beginning next week.
Madera National won four of
its five games in the tournament while Reedley finished with a 4-2 mark. Madera National took two of the three meetings; the first on June 24 by a 10-6 score at Camacho Park. Eight teams participated in the tournament, and all were guaranteed four games.

Washington Intermedi- ate School in Dinuba is get- ting set to start its inaugural tackle football season for the upcoming school year and coaches and staff are cur- rently taking sign ups for the upcoming season.
Interested individuals
wanting to sign up for the Washington Intermediate School tackle football team can pick up their packets in the school’s office. Deadline for registration and physicals is July 31.
