A 26-year-old Fres- no man died from in- juries suffered in a two-vehicle crash at a rural intersection west of Sanger on July 28.
The victim was iden- tified as Luke Emil Al- poonarian. He was driv- ing a Kia Forte west on Jensen Avenue ap- proaching the intersec- tion of Temperance Av- enue shortly after 4 p.m. For an unknown reason, he failed to stop at a red light and crashed into the left side of a Toyota SUV driven by Maria Vasquez, 63, of Fresno. Vasquez was yielding to northbound traf- fic in the intersection while waiting to turn left from Temperance Avenue onto eastbound Jensen.
Alpoonarian died at Community Re- gional Medical Center in Fresno despite life- saving efforts. Vasquez also was transported to CRMC with major inju- ries. Her condition was unknown as of Aug. 3.
Drugs or alcohol were not suspected, the CHP reported. The report said Alpoonar- ian was not wearing a seatbelt.

Three people, including a 35-year-old Dinuba man, were killed in head-on crash on a ru- ral Tulare County road east of Traver on July 31.
Identifies of the victims had not been confirmed from the Tulare County Coroner's office as of Aug. 3.
The California Highway Pa- trol said the crash happened at approximately 2:35 p.m. on Av- enue 368, just east of Road 52. Investigators said that Dinuba man was driving a 1999 Toyota east along Avenue 368 at an un- known speed while the two oth- er vehicles were headed west.
According to the CHP, for an unknown reason the man veered to the left into the westbound lane and the Toyota crashed head-on into a 2003 Honda driv- en by a 61-year-old Fresno wom- an. The Toyota then continued in a southeasterly dissection and crashed into the right rear end of a 1997 Chevrolet, which was also traveling west and veered

the Honda, 54-year-old Sylvia Estrada from Fresno, suffered minor injuries and was trans- ported by ground ambulance to Community Regional Medi- cal Center in Fresno.

of Fresno, declined further medical treatment along with two adults and two children in the vehicle.
According to the CHP, alco- hol did appear to be a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
