We go about our daily lives making sure we have what we need for today and tomorrow.
We develop a routine and follow it, sometimes unconsciously, without looking too far into the future. We go through life following a pattern, often laid out by those who went before us, and the next thing we know, we have become seniors.
ere are millions of baby boomers who have already reached the milestone of 65 years old who are now real- izing they may not have
selves and the residents they care for.
You will be pro- tecting the people

of what needs to be planned for in the com- ing years.

disease that is helping us live longer. How- ever, two statistics are very sobering and im- portant to know. First, one third of seniors will have a fall this year that will result in a trip to the emergency room. And second, 70% of seniors will need long term care.
A fall, a stroke or an injury can change a senior’s life in a mo- ment. Unexpected and

unplanned changes to health happen every day to seniors. So, how can seniors plan for these events?
Beyond maintaining your current lifestyle, seniors need to plan for these three things when health has changed to the point where they can no longer be left alone. First, where will they receive care. Sec- ond, who will provide the care. And third,
how will care be paid for.
One of the bene ts of living in a retirement community like Palm Village in Reedley, is that these three things are already in place. Planning for future care needs before they are needed, can be the best gift you can give your spouse and family.
