FOOTBALL Marty to leave RC for collegiate coaching job
Reedley College an- nounced on May 4 that Eric Marty is stepping down as head football coach to become the of- fensive coordinator at Grambling State Univer- sity in Louisiana.
The hiring of Marty, who posted a 27-17 re- cord coaching at Reed- ley College, capped his four-season run by lead- ing the Tigers to a 10-1 record and the North- ern California Football Association American Division championship with a 23-14 victory over Foothill College in 2019. A season earlier, the Ti- gers had a perfect 10-0 regular season before a bowl loss.
Reedley College, as well as all California Community College football teams, didn't
ies remain unchanged. Deaths totals listed as of May 4 continue at 70 for Reedley, 63 for Sanger, 37 for Parlier, 20 for Fowler and 13 for Orange Cove.
Encouraging news for Tulare County is the slow increase in total and active COVID cases in communities. Dinu- ba's total cases for the week increased only by four people; to 4,229. As of May 4, only 11 people were listed as active positive cases in the past three weeks.
Orosi and Cutler had virtually no movement in additional positive and active cases.

Marty will serve as offensive coordinator and quarterback coach under head coach Brod- erick Fobbs at Gram- bling State, perhaps the most renowned HCBU (Historically Black Col- lege and University) in college football. The Ti- gers were coached for decades by the late Ed- die Robinson, who for- merly held the all-time winning record among college coaches.
Marty replaces Mark Orlando, who resigned two games into Gram- bling's spring season in March. Kendrick Nord served as interim OC for the Tigers before "re- moving himself from the program" at week later, according to the Monroe (la.) News-Star
A total of 48,398 people (97.8 percent) in Tulare County were listed as recovered as of May 4.
