While the Pirates have a one game at a time mentality, Coach Buckley said there is definitely a bigger goal.
“Winning league is al- ways a priority, but this sea- son we are looking to make a deep run in playoffs,” Buck- ley said. “We want to be a contender in Division III. We plan on taking care of what we need to in league, but we have bigger things on our minds.”
The Pirates had lost three games in a row before the win over the Wildcats.
“It is a mental game. We started off the season on a high note and then had a few stumbles,” Buckley said. “But coming back home and rack- ing up a win for our league opener reminds us that this is who we are and what we are capable of. It puts us back on the right trajectory.”
