SANGER HERALD 8A THURSDAY, AUGUST 2, 2018
You can meet many of
the dogs up for adoption
next Tuesday at the National Night Out from 5:30-8:30 p.m. in Sanger Park.
There have been quite a few adoptions recently. JoJo, Roscoe, Henry, Sasha, Red, Bear and Grizzly have all found forever homes.
Our Pets of the Week are new to the shelter. Bruce is a shepherd mix who is prob- ably not even a year old. He
gets along well with every- one.
Isabella is a happy pitbull lady who also gets along with everyone.
Princess, Tank and Mary and Jane are also still at the shelter, waiting and hoping for their forever homes.
Call animal control officer Mario Irazoqui at (559) 618- 9071 or animal control volun- teer Kim at (559) 250 5270 or message the Sanger Animal
Shelter Facebook page and leave your email address
to find out more about the adoption process which will involve home checks.
The cost for each adoption will vary.
Let Mario or Kim know if you're interested in providing a temporary foster home for any of the shelter dogs.
There's a place to cool off in Sanger when you need a place to escape from the heat.
"Thanks to a grant from PG&E the City of Sanger annex building at 1789 Jensen Avenue will be opened from noon to 6 p.m. as a cooling center every time the temperature reaches or tops 105 degrees," said parks and recreation supervisor Joaquin Zamora.
You can visit the cooling center by enter- ing through the annex building's west doors on Hoag Avenue.
"The cooling center needs volunteers and will accept donations of bottled water and oth- er items to help beat the heat," said Zamora.
If you're interested in volunteering or donat- ing, call 876-6300 option 2.

Daily temperatures are courtesy of Weather.Com
If Weather.Com is correct we could soon get a short break from the string of 100 degree days. The forecast calls for at least four days of mid 90s temperatures, beginning Sunday, before it starts to heat up again. The most notable change in the weather will be in the night- time temperatures. They'll drop into the mid 60s.
The forecast for Aug. 17, when the Apaches open the football season in Tom Flores
Stadium against the Reedley Pirates, is for a daytime temperature in the mid 90s and a 7:30 p.m. gametime temperature in the low 90s to high 80s.
The air quality is going to depend on the number of fires still burning and the wind direction.
Lately the air quality has varied from moderately unhealthy to very unhealthy. Try to cut back on outdoor activities if you can.
