It was the second straight loss for Immanuel (18-8, 10-2) af- ter it clinched the Central Se- quoia League championship the previous week.
GIRLS BASKETBALL Sunnyside 47, Reedley 32
At the RHS gym on Feb. 6, the Pirates dropped their Se- nior Night contest to the visit- ing Wildcats, who jumped to a 14-5 lead after one quarter and pulled away in the second half with a 27-16 run.
Before the game, the team honored its five senior play- ers – Destiny Renteria, Reese Kubo, Clara Ramirez, Clare McGahan and Emily Takasaki.

In Visalia, the Eagles dropped their regular season finale on Feb. 6 as the Cava- liers avoided a share of the Central Sequoia League cellar. Last week, Immanuel posted its lone league victory by knocking off Hanford West.
SOFTBALL Dinuba 11, Reedley 2
At RHS field on Feb. 8, the Emperors broke a 1-1 tie with three runs in the fourth inning before adding four more in the fifth for a season- opening rout.
Four different players had two hits each for Dinuba, and Emperors pitcher Kirst- en Martinez limited Reedley to just two hits. The Pirates, weather permitting, played at Selma on Feb. 12 and are scheduled to travel to Kerman on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 6 p.m.

The host School is Sierra College, a very competitive team from the North Division of the Big 8 Conference. It will also count as the second Cen- tral Valley Conference Tour- nament of the season.
On Monday, Feb. 18, the Tigers head to San Jose for another conference tourney.
SOFTBALL Reedley College rebounds from first loss
Reedley College will try and bounce back from its first loss of 2019 on Thursday, Feb. 14, when they are scheduled to host (weather permitting) Bakersfield and San Joaquin
Delta.
The Lady Tigers are
scheduled to face Bakersfield in the first contest of a triple- header at 10 a.m. The Ren- egades take on San Joaquin Delta at noon before Reedley faces Delta at 2 p.m.
Reedley’s seven-game winning streak came to end Feb. 9 in Monterey as the un- defeated Monterey Peninsula College Lobos edged the Lady Tigers. Results from a Feb. 12 twinbill with undefeated Sac- ramento City College were unavailable at press time.

The section finals take place over two days on Fri- day and Saturday, Feb. 22-23, at Fresno's Selland Arena.

Parlier's boys (15-4-3, 7-3-2 West Sequoia) are seeded sixth in Division 4 and hosted No. 11 Chowchilla on Feb. 13. The winner likely would play at No. 3 Arvin on Friday, Feb. 15.
Section final dates are Friday and Saturday, Feb. 22-23.
Reedley had defeated Santa Rosa Junior College 11-3 ear- lier on Feb. 9 in Monterey af- ter sweeping a home double- header over Cuesta by scores of 19-0 and 7-6 in Reedley on Feb. 5.
The only base on balls al- lowed by Reedley ace pitch- er Emily Grimbeby eventu- ally scored the only run in the Tigers’ loss to Monterey. The sophomore from Clovis struck out 11 and allowed only two hits in the loss. Through the weekend's ac- tion, Grimbeby led the state in strikeouts with 35.
Despite being shut out, Reedley leads the state in runs scored with 78.
Against Cuesta, the Tigers opened the first game with nine runs in the bottom of the first inning and 10 more in the second. Every starter had at least one hit in a 22-hit attack, led by four hits off the bat of Sam Lizaola. Aunika Castellanos drove in five runs with three hits. Amanda Bel- tran, who pitched two innings of relief of Grimbeby, joined Karlie Fien with three hits.
The Tigers had to come from behind in the second game after the Cougars scored three times in the top of the first. Reedley tied the contest with three in the bot- tom of the inning.
Reedley broke the 6-6 tie in the bottom of the sixth after Bobbie Falcon (who is tied for the state lead in stolen bases) led off with a triple before scoring on a two-out error.

For the Titan girls, Claris- sa Alvarez placed second and Julissa Martinez (108) fifth to qualify for the Masters meet. Alvarez went 2-1 while Marti- nez moved up a weight class and reached the semifinals before losing.

Leading the way for Reed- ley were the trio of Tommy O’Rourke (Canberra, Austra- lia), Bailey Flickenger (Paso Robles) and Xavier Coreno (Central, Fresno), who all shot 3 over par 73s. Each Tiger tied for second overall in the 84-player field and made the all-tournament team.

Mighty Might Division: K thru 2nd Grade. Ages six to eight. Player cannot exceed 115 pounds.
ALL divisions: A participant’s age on December 1, 2019 determines the playing age.
All individuals must provide a copy of their 2018-2019 FINAL report card, a copy of a primary health insurance card, and a CURRENT wallet size photo. Scheduled JUNE dates will be announced to collect the copy of the FINAL report card.
The League requires an Original Certi ed birth certi cate at the time of contract certi cation. The original birth certi cate will be requested at a speci ed time in July. The original birth certi cate will be returned after the contract is certi ed.
A sports physical is required for all divisions. If you cannot get a timely appointment from your doctor, suggested quali ed locations will be listed on the information sheet that will be attached to the player contract.
