Staff Report
The Reedley Planning Commission unanimously voted to approve a one-year extension of time for a vest- ing tentative subdivision map for the Blossom Trail project, a 68-lot subdivision located on the southwest corner of Man- ning and Zumwalt avenues.
Rob Terry, community development director for the city, asked the commis- sion to extend the tentative subdivision map for at least another year with the hope of eventually developing the site located just north of Si- las Bartsch K-8 School. The tentative map shows poten- tial low- and medium-density dwellings along with apart- ments. In addition, there’s potential commercial devel- opment involving offices, a mini-storage and a proposed 5 pump gas station.
Terry said the project has been on hold for a few years but the hope is to eventually develop the project.
“Even now, it’s very com- plicated to develop,” he told the commission. The exten- sion is to keep the wheels in motion, and can be extended up to five years.
The five commissioners all supported the extension, and also approved the 2018 annual progress report for the Reedley General Plan and Housing Element. Terry said the general plan report is intended to comply with requirements of government code that mandates that all cities submit a report on the status of the general plan.
Terry said that 99 units have been built and developed

as part of the general plan with just more than 1,200 left to build by 2023.
In other commission busi- ness, Pete Perez and Ron Hudson were nominated and unanimously approved to continue as commission chair and vice-chair, respectively. Alberto Custodio nominated
Perez while the newest com- missioner, William Conrad, nominated Hudson.
The planning commission will next meet on Thursday, Feb. 21, at 5 p.m. to discuss annexation, change of zone, subdivision map application and a conditional use permit application.
