fishing to help stop poachers along the river. Each year, the Kings River Conservancy hosts the Frank Jones Memo- rial Warden Patrol Fund Barbeque to raise mon- ey. The December 2019 event raised $7,200 from
community donors and local fishing organiza- tions such as the Flyfish- ers for Conservation of Fresno and the Kaweah Flyfishers of Visalia.
The funds raised at the barbeque are matched by the Edward K. Mar-
tin Family Foundation administered by the Cen- tral Valley Community Foundation. CVCF gave KRC $8,000 to fund this donation and the Warden Patrol Project.
Over the past nine years in excess of
$115,000 has been raised by this effort and has been effective in enforc- ing fishing regulations along the river. The in- creased warden patrols help ensure fishers are releasing and abiding by other limits.
