A video message of ap- preciation was sent to par- ents and guardians of stu- dents within the Sanger Unified School District on the evening of Nov. 13.
The video was posted by the district and fea- tured superintendent Ad- ela Jones thanking families for their patience and their understanding during the 8 months that schools in the district shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Both teachers and stu- dents have shared such positive comments and stories about being back in the classroom face to face again,” said Adela Jones, the district superintendent.
“We appreciate what you as families have done to en- sure that our safety proto- cols are followed.”

We are back in the Purple Tier and everyone on social media seems to be panick- ing again. And what follows panic? Usually an enor- mous demand for toilet pa- per, which is then followed by empty shelves and toilet paper shortages around the country.
I really feel that what makes the toilet paper short- age worse is that people be- gin posting how there is no toilet paper. That then causes a domino effect of panic and then we are back at square one, with no squares of toilet paper anywhere in sight.
Hopefully, we can con- tinue to practice social dis- tancing, wearing masks and controlling the spread of CO- VID-19. I personally know more than 10 people in my immediate circle of friends and family who have tested positive for COVID-19.
Most recovered, two how- ever, did not. So again, it’s a virus that affects everyone differently so we must con- tinue to follow the safety pro- tocols to protect those around us and ourselves. We’ve all heard of the “second wave” of COVID-19.
I am wondering if this is it? Could this be the second wave of the pandemic. And will the upcoming Thanks- giving and Christmas holi- days make it worse?
Well, the good news how- ever is there have also been reports of vaccines and they’ve proven to be highly effective.
We can only just sit and wait, and hope this pandemic that began nearly 8 months ago and that has caused so much turmoil across the world, is under control soon.
