The public can get involved with helping plan the 56th annual Reedley Fiesta, which returns to a live parade- gathering format on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 8-9, in downtown Reedley.
This year's theme is "Take Flight In Reed- ley!" The Fiesta returns to a traditional parade format after being held in COVID-riddled 2020 with a "reverse parade" schedule. In that case, parade floats were dis- played along G Street and attendees drove past from their vehi- cles.
Entry forms are available for the tra- ditional parade, with the deadline to enter set for Friday, Sept. 24. You can go online at reedleychamber.com and click on the link to download a Fiesta pa- rade form.
New vendors also are welcome to join the Fiesta festivities and register for a craft, food or retail booth. For more informa- tion, email the Greater Reedley Chamber of Commerce at info@ reedleychamber.com or go online to the cham- ber website at reed- leychamber.com. Info: (559) 638-3548.
Weather conditions in the eastern valley portions of Fresno and Tulare counties came together the evening of Sept. 9 to ignite spectacu- lar lightning strikes and thun- der. At least two prep football games were suspended by lightning.
