Orosi High cross country runner Sinoel Garcia had a plan entering the West Sequoia League cross country championships Tuesday.
Stay close to his rivals and make a move towards the end of the 5,000 meter race at Woodward Park.
Garcia did his best finishing 11th overall in a time of 19 minutes, 13.10 seconds to pace the Cardinals to a sixth-place finish with 146 points.
The senior said he got off to a good start but was unable to reel in his closest rivals.

Burner pointed out that many players had breakout matches during the Emperors’ late season run.
“Kayla [Villareal] was a beast in the back row and Beth [Gonzalez] killed it from the serving line. Ally [Garcia] and Kirsten [Martinez] both had 15 plus kill matches and Felicia [Vela] was blocking,” stated Burner. “Kaily [Manning] distributed the offense well and gave everyone a chance to contribute. Kaelyn [Barrela], Azlynn [Villalobos] and Amanda [Valdez] all contributed to the offense. Yazmine [Villareal] and Azlynn put up a great right side block and Alexa [Garcia], as always, provided a steady presence and contributed from the front and back row.”
Moving forward the team will lose quite a few impactful seniors.
