• A grass fire was re- ported in the orchard be- hind McDonalds at 5:28 a.m. in the 1700 block of East El Monte Way.
• A person reported at 5:36 a.m. of hearing four shots fired in the 1600 block of Akers Way. Nothing was reported seen.

Mr. McHaley, a resident of Sanger, passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at the age of 85. He was born on April 28, 1936 in Fresno, California.
Dick was raised in Piedra, until he and Shirly married. They lived in Tivy Valley and Sanger.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; son, Richard Michael & wife, Barbara; grandson, Richard Michael, Jr. & wife, Amber; and three, great-grandchildren, Railee, Chole and, Richard Syler.
No services will be held.

Eleanor (Lee) Jertberg
March 21, 1929 ~ August 10, 2021
Eleanor (Lee) Jertberg was born on March 21, 1929 in Downey,
California and passed away peacefully on August 10, 2021
surrounded by her children.
Lee married her High School sweetheart Richard Jertberg in 1949. They were mar-
ried for 65 years until his death in 2014. They moved from Southern California to
Dinuba in 1962 & together raised 5 children.
Lee worked for the Dinuba School District for many years,
while helping Rich take care of their 20 acre citrus ranch. She always
found time to serve a delicious home cooked meal including dessert.
The Ranch was the spot for the family to gather for holidays, birthdays and hot summer days by the pool. Lee loved her large backyard which she kept manicured to perfection.
Lee leaves a beautiful legacy of love to her children, grandchil- dren & great-grandchildren. She had a special connection with them all.
Lee is survived by her children: Richard Jertberg Jr. (Mary Elizabeth) of Ceres, CA; Greg Jertberg (Mary) of Visalia, CA; Debbie Esau (Steve) of Kingsburg, CA; Nancy Lunsford (Gary) of Dinuba, CA. Grandchildren: Sancelle Vance, Paul Jert- berg, Tricia Luyben, Jessica Jertberg, Jeremy Jertberg, Stefani Esau, Kevin Esau, Kelly Esau, Chad Lunsford, Chelsy McMary- ion and 9 great-grandchildren.
Sisters Jo Billard & Diane Perhab, Sisters-in-law Joan Fortin & Marion Kanthak, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her Parents Joe & Pauline Per- hab; Husband Richard Jertberg Sr.; Daughter Cheryl Vance; Daughter-in-law Mary Jertberg.
Lee was a wonderful Wife, Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Sister, Auntie & friend. She will be missed by all of us.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

John James mcKinley
September 1, 1953 ~ August 6, 2021
On Friday, August 6, 2021, John James McKinley passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 67 at home in Reedley. John was born September 1, 1953, in Cleveland, OH. He was preceded in death by his father, Carlos (Pete) and his mother, Marjorie. He is survived by his brothers Bill, Barry, David, a sister, Susan, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and several close
friends.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday August 31, 2021 at 7 pm at the Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church, 1362 L
St, Reedley CA 93654.
Shirley Ann Mello
April 11, 1935 ~ August 5, 2021
Shirley Ann Mello, 86, passed away Thursday, August 5th in Escondido, California.
Shirley was born and lived in Dinuba. She was well known in the community for her good heart and sense of duty to the community. Shirley retired from the Dinuba Unified School District after 28 years of service. She developed long lasting relationships with the students and staff. It wasn’t unusual for long time former students to stop and chat. Her sense of community pride was solidified as she was active in the Dinuba Christian Church, Alta Historical Society, Dinuba Senior Citizen Program, LUSO, Pismo Portuguese Celebration and volunteered for the Tulare County Farm Show.
Shirley’s dedication to family always took center stage. Her love and devotion for them was never ending. Shirley is survived by her loving husband, Frank Mello of Dinuba; two daughters, Alison Oros (Sebastian) of Escondido; Amanda Sollid of Visalia and one sister, Antoinette Houston of Nevada. She is preceded in death by her son, Kimball Boatman and granddaughter Jodi Hedges. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren as well as numerous other family members and close friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 28th at 10:30am. The service will take place at the Dinuba Christian Church, 355 E. Saginaw in Dinuba.
