March 26, 1958 - June 13, 2021
Tim Harms went to be with his Lord on Sunday morning, June 13, 2021. He had been living at the home of his daughter and her husband, Ashley and Aaron Somawang in Davis, Calif. Tim was born March 26, 1958 and lived in Reedley, Calif. with his parents, Menno and Jane and brother, Rod, until the 4th grade. The family then moved to Fresno where Tim attended Wolters Elementary, Ahwahnee
Jr. High School and then Hoover High School. After high school, Tim met his wife, Cindy and they then moved back to Reedley. They attended Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church and began a family shortly after moving to Reedley. He went to work for Davis Equipment, Inc./ Air-o-Fan and stayed for many years. Tim would go on to work for different companies such as Jack Rabbit and OMC...both in the Chico area...always working in the almond and walnut industry. Baseball was a huge part of Tim’s life and he was a true Giants fan, attending many of their games. Tim also learned how to auction and following in the footsteps of his grandfather and uncle, became an excellent auctioneer, working many benefit auctions. Tim loved fishing and camping and took his family as often as they could get away. He loved being a dad to his four kids. Tim also loved to golf and hang out with his golfing buddies in Chico.
Tim is survived by his children, daughter Ashley and husband Aaron Somawang of Davis, CA, son Garrett of Kingsburg, CA, daughter Courtney and her husband Nathan Davey, along with grandsons Wade and Ford, of Virginia Beach, VA and son Mitchell of Scottsdale, AZ. He also leaves behind his parents Menno and Jane Harms of Reedley, CA, brother Rod and wife Marjie of Reedley, CA. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews, many cousins and many friends. We are saddened by his passing and know that his kind and gentle spirit will be dearly missed. Any remembrances may be sent to The Pole Line Rd. Baptist Church, 770 Pole Line Rd., Davis, CA 95618. Tim was embraced by this church and the fellowship meant so very much to him.
