Adoption only requires spaying/neutering and bring- ing the rabies shot up to date. The only charge is to the veterinarian, Gregory Saiki DVM.
"We need foster families for our dogs going to rescue groups. Anyone who is inter- ested can call me at (559) 250-5270 or Morgan at (206) 304-1093," said Kim.
"Thank you to everyone who donated puppy pads, linens, food, treats, doggie jackets, and replacement bed materials... and a big thank youtoour volunteerswho come walk and help bathe our doggies," said Kim.
The shelter has just received a couple of large tarps that can be stretched over ropes in an outdoor play area to provide shade dur- ing the coming hot weather. "Now, I'm hoping someone will volunteer to put them up for us," said Kim.

Lincoln Elementary School 5th grader Elizabeth Lopez and her mom Yolanda show off Elizabeth's new bicycle. She won it in a raffle with other Lincoln 5th graders who had perfect attendance for the year. The bike was donated by Sanger VFW Post 7168.

JoJo and Roscoe are this week's featured pets.
JoJo is an energetic pitbull, about 4 years old, who loves to play and walk. He likes kids and gets along well with bigger dogs. He's very smart and has learned several commands while he's been at the shelter.
Roscoe is a young Rhode- sian Ridgeback.
"He's probably only about 3 years old. He knows how to walk on a leash and he's very calm and obedient - a very mellow boy," said animal control volunteer Kim Reed.
JoJo, Roscoe, Tank and Mary and Jane are waiting at the shelter and hoping for forever homes.

After a couple of very hot days, yesterday and today, it will cool off.
In fact, it will be about 20 degrees cooler on Sunday than it was yesterday and the 85-86 degrees will feel almost chilly by comparison.

will start climbing, but stay below triple digits for at least a couple more weeks.
