John G. Bradhurst
United States Navy (Retired)
July 29, 1942 ~ January 22, 2022
John, 79 years, 5 months, and 24 days, was born on July 29, 1942, in Sanger, CA. to the late Lela Marie (Horton) and Gordie Marcus Bradhurst, of Stover, MO. John was married to his hometown sweetheart Ina Jo (Beyard) of Waldron, AR on July 9, 1962. They would have been married 60 years in July of 2022. Ina Jo was born to the late Vernell (Bottoms) and Harley E. C. Beyard of Waldron, AR.
John passed away in the
early morning hours of Saturday, January 22, 2022, at his home in Henderson, NV, with his family. He proudly served his country for over 23 years in the United States Navy, during the Vietnam War era. Exposure to Agent Orange contributed to his death. John earned his Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Arkansas. After retiring from the U.S. Navy, he held a position of Assistant Professor, at a local Memphis college teaching Calculus, John went on to enjoy a very successful career with several larger companies such as Kellogg, Walmart, and Sears, among others.
John loved his little piece of Toledo Bend Lake in Texas, his boat, lawnmower, crossword puzzles, his Church and God. He was an active member of the Southern Baptist Church of Hemphill, Texas until his recent move to Henderson, NV. There was nothing John enjoyed more here on earth than his family. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Trust in God eases pain. Hope can lighten the grief, and love makes us courageous. John has left a hole in our hearts that we will carry with us forever.
John is survived by his wife, Ina Jo of 59 years. His three children, son, Johnnie and his wife Beckie of CA, two daughters, Joanne and her husband Arthur of FL, and Cynthia Jean of NV. There are also five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are: Johnnie Bradhurst, Arthur Blizard, Jonas Charfauros, Noah Charfauros, Ronald Karle, and Joseph Charfauros.
Services will be held at 9:00 am, Thursday, February 24th, 5450 Stephanie Street, Las Vegas, NV 89122, at LaPaloma Mortuary/Chapel, Las Vegas, with interment to follow at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, NV. 89005. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, Nevada 89005.                 Alma (Hayes) Parkinson
Mrs. Alma (Hayes) Parkinson of Sanger passed away Wednesday February 9, 2022 in Fresno at the age of 92. Mrs. Parkinson was born October 26, 1929 in her family home in Milltown Dublin, Ireland to Richard and Lilian Hayes, the youngest of six children. In 1957 she moved to the United States and settled in Pasadena, California. In 1959 her future husband Frederick Parkinson followed to be with the one he loved and on May 7, 1960 they married and made their home in San Gabriel, California. Alma worked as a bank teller for Bank of America for over 30 years. In 1990 and after retiring, Fred and Alma moved to Sanger, California where they remained until most recent time. Alma was a devout Christian and loved the Lord.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Frederick Parkinson of Sanger. She is also survived by her extended family in Ireland as well as many beloved friends. In lieu of flowers, rememberances can be made to Catholic charities.
A Funeral Rosary and Mass was held on February 22, 2022, rosary to begin at 11:30am and mass at 12:00pm at the New St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sanger, California, followed by a graveside at Sanger Cemetery. Funeral Services are entrusted to Wallin’s Sanger Funeral Home.
