SOFTBALL Pirates outslug Sunnyside
Reedley High's bats came alive in time to wrap up a fourth consecutive North Yosemite League title on May 2.
The Pirates (17-10, 9-1) trailed 2-1 after two innings, but erupted for four runs in both the third and fourth innings to down second-place Sunnyside by a 9-2 score in Fresno. The win not only extend- ed the title streak but was the program's seventh league crown in eight years.
Reedley left the door ajar for Sunny- side by dropping a 9-8 home decision in eight innings to Hoover on April 30. The Pirates rallied to tie the score, 5-5, in the bottom of the seventh before the Patriots erupted for four runs in the eighth.

Mulligan was joined by her par- ents, Jim and Kristi Mulligan, along with Reedley High Athletic Director Darren Minami at the awards ban- quet held in Visalia.
Mulligan’s high school athletic career includes four years as a varsity soccer player, four years as a varsity softball player, and one year on the varsity tennis team. She has been named First Team All-League a total of 7 times in both
soccer and softball and was league champion in doubles tennis. She has been named Offensive Player of the Year by the NYL in both soc- cer and softball. In addition to her athletic endeavors, she maintains a 3.6 GPA, is active in several school organizations, and is serving as the senior class president.

SD. Former Tigers DJ West and Jackson Leach are cur- rently on the Lancers roster.
Current catcher Danny Gamez and infielder Hans Brown were named to the all-CVC second team while infielder Gabe Grijalva and pitcher Peyton McNair were honorable mention selec- tions.
Elsewhere, six former Reedley College Tigers are members of the York College baseball team in Nebraska, that qualified last weekend for the open- ing round of the NAIA Na- tional Tournament. The list includes pitchers Evan Sagariballa (5-3, 4.48 ERA), Spencer Jones (1.76, 9 saves), Casey Wagnon, Dal- lin Cornelious and Aaron Alvarez and catcher Matt Nunes, who is second on the 29-21 Panthers with a .337 batting average.
COLLEGES

Vallejo added some insur- ance with a two-run homer.
Reedley captured the May 4 contest by a 6-3 score, im- proving to 33-9 on the season.
Sophomore Emily Grim- beby was the winning pitch- er in both games, improving her season record to 25-8 on the season.
“It was just good to get it done,” said a happy head coach Kathy Kuball after
the May 4 game. “We got enough runs on the board.”
San Jose City College brings a 17-game winning streak into the Super Region- als after blanking Feather River by scores of 3-0 and 12-0. The Coast Conference South champions have been shut out by top seeded Col- lege of San Mateo twice this season.
The Lady Tigers and Central Valley Conference champion College of the Se- quoias were the only CVC
teams to advance to the Su- per Regionals. Since COS was seeded one spot below the Tigers, they will face top seeded College of San Mateo in the Super Regionals.
Third place Fresno City was eliminated after two losses to Sierra College while fourth place Porter- ville was swept by San Joa- quin Delta.
BASEBALL Two Tigers make all-CVC first team
Two Reedley College baseball standouts, infield- er Deagan Risnes (Lake Arrowhead) and outfielder Josh Mares, were named last week to the all-Central Valley Conference first team.
