The Orosi High School girls soccer team celebrated winning the Central Section Division IV championship over East Bakersfield High on Feb. 21 at George Millhorn Stadium. The Cardinals completed a 22-1-6 season with the 2-1 overtime victory.

Fresno Pacific's bas- ketball and soccer teams learned their season schedules for early 2021 when the PacWest Confer- ence announced on Dec. 23 that it had approved PWC schedules and re- gional affiliations for the two sports, with athletics resuming in January.
The Sunbirds will compete as part of the conference's Northern California pod along with Holy Names, Acad- emy of Art, and Domini- can. Basketball season for men and women tips off with games in late January, while the soc- cer season has season- opening matches sched- uled for early February.
“We are excited to see this season finally be able to get off the ground with a conference schedule. So many people have worked tirelessly and diligently
for months to create this opportunity for our stu- dents,” FPU's Director of Athletics Aaron Hender- son said. “Our staff and student-athletes have been patient and contin- ued to work hard to meet and exceed expectations when it was not easy to do that, and we are really looking forward to seeing our athletes competing in a safe environment once again.”

Sanger High's boys soccer team lifted head coach Alex Gutierrez onto their shoulders at Tom Flores Stadium. after capturing the CIF Northern California regional Division II championship on March 7 with a 4-0 shutout of Redwood High from Larkspur. The victory capped a 24-3-5 season for the Apaches, who won the section title on Feb. 21.
