• American Legion Alta Post 19 will be hosting their Annual Spaghetti Dinner on Friday, June 21, at the Dinuba Memorial Building. The dinner will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The menu includes spaghetti, green beens, garlic bread, salad, dessert and beverages. The cost for the dinner is $10 per plate.

• The Dinuba Branch of the Tulare County Library will be holding a public meeting on a proposed update of the library's Internet policy on Thursday, June 27 at 6 p.m.
The library reviews their policy every few years to ensure that it is meeting the community's needs and complying with teh Children's Internet Protection Act.
The public meeting will be held at the Dinuba Branch Library. Light refreshments will be provided.
• The Dinuba Chamber of Commerce will be holding a Sexual Harassment Training Seminar on Tuesday, July 9, at the Dinuba Vocational Educational Center, located at 199 North L Street.
The training seminar will be held in order to help local businesses stay compliant with a new California State Law that went into place at the beginning of this year. The new law requires that employers with more than five employees provide at least an hour of harassment training before year's end.
The cost for the training is $35 per person. Employee training will be held from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and manager training will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. For more information, contact the Dinuba Chamber of Commerce at 591-2707.
• The Dinuba High School Class of 1979 will be having their 40th Class Reunion on Saturday, Sept. 28 at Fort Washington Country Club in Fresno.
The event will be a business casual attire event (T-shirts and/ or jeans will not be permitted). Social hour will begin at 5:30 p.m. Dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m. Entertainment will start at 7:30 p.m. and dance will begin at 8:30 p.m.
The cost to attend is $60 per person. Payment must be received by Sept. 1, no refunds. Special hotel rates at the Holiday Inn Express on Howard St. in Fresno area availabe by mentioning the DHS Class of '79 reunion.

A Dinuba man was reportedly involved in a fatal accident Friday evening, said the California Highway Patrol.
According to officers with the Merced Communications Center of the CHP, their station received a call of a traffic collision between asedanandabigrigonRoad24 and Avenue 7 at approximately 6:47 on June 14.
Officers from the CHP Madera Area Office were dispatched to the scene, which was in the unincorporated area of Madera County.
After the initial investigation, officers determined that the driver of a 2010 Chevy Malibu was traveling northbound on Road 24, approaching Avenue 7 at approximately 70 to 90 miles per hour. Driving a 2001 Freightliner eastbound on Avenue 7 was Javier Sanchez, 46, of Dinuba, approaching the intersection with Road 24 at approximately 55 miles per hour.

by posted stop signs for northbound and southbound traffic. Officers say the driver of the Chevy Malibu, described only as a 25-year-old male from Madera, was intoxicated and failed to stop for the posted stop sign at the intersection.
As a result, officers say the Chevy went through the intersection and collided with therightNo.3axleofthebigrig and its momentum carried the vehicle under the trailer of the big rig, causing major damage to both the Chevy and the trailer.
The Chevy reportedly came to a rest in an orchard north east of the intersection.
Sanchez was able to drive the big rig to the right shoulder of Avenue 7, east of the intersection and was not injured as a result of the collision.
Responding Emergency Medical Service personnel attempted CPR on the driver of the Chevy, however, they were unsuccessful in resuscitating him.
Alcohol and/or drugs are a suspected factor in the collision.

Police say that Ramsey was uncooperative and attempted to flee on foot from officers. He also reportedly became combative during the arrest, but was taken into custody without further incident.
He was arrested at the scene, booked and later transported to the Tulare County Pretrial Facility for housing.

Dinuba Police Department arrests in the last week.
• Destiny Yvonne Mancilla, 20, of Merced was booked on June 12 on suspicion of shoplifting, a misdemeanor.
According to police, officers responded to Walmart in regards to a female who exited the store with merchandise she did not pay for. While in route, officers were dispatched a clothing description of the suspect and were able to make contact with Mancilla, who matched the description, in front of Payless.
An investigation revealed she was in possession of the unpaid merchandise.
She was placed under arrest and later transported to the Dinuba Police Department, where she was booked. She was later released with a misdemeanor citiation.
• Robert Eugene Powell, 36, of Dinuba was booked on June 12 on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury to a spouse or cohabitant, a felony.
Police say he and the victim were in a verbal altercation over a cell phone when the argument became physical. Officers say he got on top of the victim and pinned her arms down. He then reportedly began to strangle the victim with both hands.
After a short struggle, he got off the victim. She, the victim, sustained a scratch and bruising to her right arm.
Powell was later arrested in the 1500 block of Armarillo Street in Dinuba. He was booked at the Dinuba Police Department and later transported to the Tulare County Pretrial Facility.
• Anna Rosa Campos, 29, of Orosi was booked on June 14 on suspicion of petty theft, a misdemeanor.
Officers say she was detained by Asset Protection at Walmart after she was observed trying to leave the store with merchandise she did not pay for.
She was arrested in the 700 block of West El Monte Way and booked. She was later cited and released with a promise to appear in court.
• Jaskaran Mann, 23, of Fresno was booked on June 15 on suspicion of being in possession of marijuana for sale, a felony, and beign in possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
According to police, officers made contact with him after responding to a call of a suspicious vehicle. After investigating, police say Mann was found to be in possession of marijuna for sale and was also found to be possession of heroin.
He was arrested in the 300 block of Monte Vista Drive, booked and later transported to the Tulare County Pretrial Facility.
This was the second time in as many weeks that Dinuba Police Officers arrested Mann. He was also recently booked on June 4 on suspicion of
being under the influence of a controlled substance, driving while under the influence a controlled substance and being in possession of more than 28.5 grams of marijuna.
• Elena Lizeth Avila, 20, of Fresno was booked on June 15 on suspicion of being in possession of marijuana for sale, a felony, and being in possession of unlawful paraphernalia and being in possession of a controlled substance, both misdemeanors.
Police say she was the passenger of a vehicle that officers made contact with after receiving a call of a suspicious vehicle. Officers say she was found to be in possession of the marijuana, as well as drug paraphernalia and a controlled substance.
She was arrested in the 300 block of Monte Vista Drive, booked and later transported to the Tulare County Pretrial Facility.
• Noemi Hyungua, 27, of Reedley was booked on June 16 on suspicion of making threats with the intent to terrorize, a misdemeanor.
Officers say reportedly told the victim that she was going to beat her up the next time she saw her for disrespecting her...at church.
She was arrested in the 800 block of East El Monte Way, booked and later released with a citation.
• Antoine Deshaughn Ramsey, 34, of Avenal was booked June 16 on suspicion of obstructing a police officer and shoplifting,
