Obituaries
Juan Alejandro
Juan Alejandro of Orosi died Sept. 5 in Por- terville. He was 91.
Mr. Alejandro worked as a farm laborer.
He is survived by four sons, five daugh- ters and 26 grandchil- dren.
Visitation was held Sept. 17 at Dopkins Di- nuba Funeral Chapel.
Helen E. Arkley
Helen E. Arkley of Reedley died Sept. 19 in Reedley. She was 96.
Mrs. Arkley worked as a teacher's aide.
She is survived by one son, two daughters, six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
No services were held. Dopkins Reedley Funeral Chapel handled the arrangements.
Treva Boss
Treva Boss of Dinuba died Sept. 2 in Visalia. She was 80.
Mrs. Boss was a homemaker.
She is survived by three children, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services were held Sept 18, followed by burial at Smith Moun- tain Cemetery in Di- nuba.
Dopkins Dinuba Fu- neral Chapel handled the arrangements.
Vivian Crawford
Vivian Crawford of Sanger died Sept. 16. She was 102.
Mrs. Crawford was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, one daughter, one sister, three grand-
children and one great grandchild.
Private services will be held at a later date.

Perry Hale
Perry Hale of Dinuba died Sept. 6 in Dinuba. He was 79.
Mr. Hale worked as a supervisor in manu- facturing at Salwas- ser's.
He is survived by his spouse, Margaret Lou- ise Hale, two sons, four daughters, 14 grand- children and 16 great- grandchildren.
Services were held Sept 21, at Dopkins Fu- neral Chapel and the First Baptist Church in Dinuba.
Virginia Macias
Virginia Macias of Sanger died Sept. 14. She was 93.
Mrs. Macias was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, two daugh- ters, two sisters and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gumecindo and Juanita Gonzalez, along with nine brothers and sisters.

legard of Sanger died Sept. 11. He was 85.
Mr. Pilegard worked as a farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Ann Pile- gard of Sanger, one son, three daughters, one brother, one sister, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

In addition to entries and service clubs on dis- play will be the parade stars — the grand mar- shal and homecoming King and Queen. Sister Lucy Cassarino, longtime principal of St. La Salle Catholic School. is this year's grand marshal.
The 2020 King and Queen are Tino and Alma Alvarez, owners of a sep- tic tank business in the city and longtime commu- nity members for more than 40 years. They have donated to middle schools, high schools, sports clubs and churches.
The Saturday drive- thru parade starts at 10 a.m. and lasts until at least noon; longer if there are a significant number of vehicles.
Parade entries are being accepted through Friday, Oct. 2. This year's Fiesta theme is "There's No Place Like Home."

Virgilio Uranga lUgo
January 31, 1943 - September 13, 2020
Virgilio “Cuchara” Uranga Lugo passed peacefully on September 13th while holding the hand of his wife and best friend Candida Morales Lugo. They were married for 55 years. He was 77 years young.
Virgilio was born in Ciudad Mante,Tamaulipas Mexico on January 31st, 1943 to Hermilio Cruz and Isabel Uranga. He started shining shoes at a young age in Mexico, growing his clientele and earning his nickname “Cuchara” by charg- ing 5 cents less than the competition. As a young man he worked all over the United States migrating with the har- vests. In 1963 he settled in Sanger, California, and began working at Chooljian Bros. Packing house and continued working there until his retirement in 2018.
He enjoyed life which included taking annual road trips to Texas, roaming Table Mountain Casino with Candida and going deep sea fishing in Morro Bay. If you didn’t find him in his house you would find him working in the shop or playing a practical joke on one of his unsuspecting kids.
Virgilio was a hard worker, talented mechanic, deep sea fisherman, and constant joker. He will be missed by his family, friends and coworkers. He was a loving father of eight children; Virginia Lugo, Virgil Lugo Jr., Isabel Alvarez, Veronica Lugo, Velma Reynolds, Cindy Avery, Vivian Lugo and Lea Garza. Virgilio is also survived by 18 grandchil- dren, 11 great-grandchildren, two brothers Guillermo Lugo and Jose Lugo; 6 nieces and 7 nephews.
Virgilio is preceded in death by his father Hermilio Cruz, his mother Isabel Uranga, his brother Gerardo Lugo and nephew Juan Carlos Lugo.

Angelica Gomez Castro
July 8, 1943-September 13, 2020
Angelica Gomez Castro was born on July 8, 1943 and she passed away
on September 13, 2020. Mrs. Castro was a faithful warrior
of Jesus. Her best times were when she would read her
bible and write in her Jour- nal to Jesus or she would listen to her Christian music or watch a Christian program on TV. She had a
special gi of reaching out to people who were hurting and
needing Christ in their life. She loved to pray for people and
to let them know of the love of Jesus. She is survived by her chil-
dren, Yolanda Pallesi, Elena Castro, Pedro Castro, Jr. and Jorge Castro. She also leaves behind her precious grand- children; Erica, Erin, William, Emily, So a, Pedro Joseph, omas, Alejandro, and Mateo, and two great-grandchil- dren; Callum and Hudson. She is also survived by her sister, Adela Mexicano and brother, Adolfo Gomez. She was preceded in death by her parents, Trinidad Gomez and Eusebia Patino Gomez, and her brother, Elias Gomez.
Lydia Bondad Andres
September 13, 1954 - September 14, 2020
Lydia Bondad Andres, 66, passed away peacefully at her home in
Fresno, California surrounded by her children and grand-
children at 12:21AM on September 14, 2020 just a er
celebrating her 66th birthday. Lydia was born on Sep- tember 13, 1954, in Brgy.
Malammin, San Juan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. In 1979, she
married the love of her life, Ruben S. Andres in Quezon City, Philippines and in 1982,
she graduated with an MBA and defended her thesis with the
highest grade to date at Divine Word College of Laoag, Philippines. A er a few years
of teaching MBA courses at DWCL, Lydia immigrated to the United States to join her husband, and they took residence in Reedley, California in 1984. She worked hard, raised her chil- dren, traveled worldwide, and nurtured her love and talents for cooking and gardening. In 2008, she lost her husband to Metastatic Pancreatic Cancer, but continued to care for her family with unwaivering love and strength. In 2015, a er 31 years of employment as a store manager for Shop-N-Go Inc., she retired to spend time with her grandchildren. In 2017, Lydia was diagnosed with Metastatic Pancreatic Cancer as well and bravely fought this hard battle for three and a half years undergoing intensive chemotherapy & radiation treat- ments. Lydia was a faithful daughter of God and member of the Catholic Church. Her light was felt by all. She welcomed all into her home, and all guests le with their bellies and hearts full. She was the summation of kindness, hope, and quiet courage, and she will be greatly missed.
Lydia is survived by her father, Ignacio Bondad; her sisters, Florida Santiago, Charito Tactacan, Revelyn Rebibes; her chil- dren & their spouses, Jetson & Lae Andres, Darrell Andres, Ruby Lhee & Steven Ratcli , Disney & Brett Mason; and her 8 grandchildren, Jordan, Jocelyn, LaiLani, Benjamin, Sierra, Sage, Tori, and Micah.
Lydia’s Rosary and Visitation will take place at Cairns Fu- neral Home in Reedley on September 18th; however it will be held privately due to COVID-19 restrictions and for the safe- ty of all. Her cremains will be placed at the Reedley Cemetery alongside her husband’s cremains during a private memorial service. A Celebration of Life for Lydia will take place on a later date once restrictions have been li ed and more loved ones can attend. Her family would like to thank everyone for all of the prayers, love, and support shown to them.
