J. Carmen Almanza
of Reedley died Dec. 31 in Selma. He was 99.
Mr. Almanza worked as a field laborer.
He is survived by one son, one daughter, two sisters, nine grand- children and nine great- grandchildren.
Visitation and a ro- sary was held Jan. 19 at Dopkins Reedley Fu- neral Chapel. A mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, at St. Anthony of Padua Cath- olic Church in Reedley. Interment will be at Reedley Cemetery.

Ellen Marie Cortes
of Dinuba died Jan. 10 in Reedley. She was 58. Mrs. Cortes was a
homemaker.
She is survived
by one daughter, two sons, one grandson, two sisters and three brothers.

Mejorado Jr. Frank Mejorado Jr.
of Selma died Dec. 3. He was 79.
Mr. Mejorado worked in retail for various employers.
He is survived by six sons, five daughters, three brothers, one sis- ter, 22 grandchildren and five great-grand- children.
Visitation and a rosa- ry were held Dec. 16 at Wallin's Sanger Funeral Home. A funeral mass was held Dec. 16 at St. Mary's New Catholic Church in Sanger.

Juan T. Mendez
Juan T. Mendez of Fresno died Dec. 15. He was 83.
Mr. Mendez worked as a ranch supervisor for Harrison Farms.
He is survived by one son, four daughters, 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
A graveside ser- vice was held Dec. 29 at Washington Colony Cemetery in Easton.

Marie Mills
Marie Mills of Sanger died Dec. 23. She was 77.
Mrs. Mills, a native of Evans, Mo., was re- tired.
She is survived by one son, one daughter, 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchil- dren. She was preced- ed in death by her hus- band, Forrest Mills; one son, one daughter and two grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4, at 25433 E. Trimmer Springs Road, Space 10 in Sanger.
Ramona Muro
Ramona Muro of ReedleydiedDec.30in Reedley. She was 84.
Mrs. Muro was a homemaker.
She is survived by six sons and five daugh- ters.
A rosary will be held at 10 a.m. followed by a mass at 10:30 a.m. Fri- day, Jan. 21, at St. An- thony of Padua Catho- lic Church in Reedley. Interment will be at Reedley Cemetery.

Frank Orozco Jr.
Frank Orozco Jr. of Sanger died Jan. 6. He was 83.
Mr. Orozco worked in retail grocery for Gong's Market.
He is survived by his wife, Esther G. Orozco of Sanger; three daugh- ters, one brother and four grandchildren.
A rosary was held Jan. 18 at Wallin's Sanger Funeral Home, followed by a mass on Jan. 18 at St. Mary's New Catholic Church in Sanger.
Rick Ramirez
Rick Ramirez of Sanger died Dec. 29 in Fresno. He was 58.
Mr. Ramirez worked as a foreman.
He is survived by his wife, Esmeralda Ramirez of Sanger; two sons, one brother and two sisters.
Visitation was held on Jan. 18 and a church service was held Jan. 19 at St. Mary's Catho- lic Church in Sanger. Burial was to follow at Sanger Cemetery.

Anthony I. Rivas
Anthony I. Rivas of Dinuba died Jan. 8 in Fresno.Hewas68.
Mr. Rivas worked for Meyer and Triton as a motel manager.
He is survived by one brother and sev- eral nieces and neph- ews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
A graveside service will be held at a future date at Smith Mountain Cemetery in Dinuba.

cause of asbestos issues in the building's ceiling and roof area. Since the closure, a temporary satellite location has been operating in the Reedley Community Center's Senior Room, Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 5 p.m.

Chapa brought up the CAL-OSHA attestation statements, and said that the city was updat- ing paperwork identi- fying individuals who have been vaccinated to also include getting a booster shot. He then advised all City Council members to fill out the attestation statement. The statement asks three things about vac- cination status, yes or no or decline to state.

The Fresno County Public Library and the city also has a longterm plan to build a new public library facility in downtown Reedley on the south side of 10th Street, across the street from Kings Canyon Unified School District offices.
"My hope is that we see the county move forward faster on the new build- ing near downtown," Zieba said. "The larger site with tutoring spaces, learn- ing centers, and more amenities is go- ing to be fantastic for our community."

 Chapa said that two of the five council mem- bers had filled out the at-
testation statement, and encouraged the remain- ing two to do so. While it is not mandatory to fill out, failing to do so meant that those mem- bers would have to mask up in all public settings.
