                            Frank OrOzcO
  May 15, 1938 ~ January 6, 2022
Frank Orozco went to be with the
Lord, our Savior, on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at the age of 83.
Frank was born in Brawley, California to Antonia and Frank Orozco on May 15, 1938. He was the eldest of four brothers and was preceded in death by his parents and younger brothers Tony and Martin Orozco. His surviving brother and best friend, Robert, continues the Orozco legacy.
Frank was a graduate of Sanger High School and loved learning. He was an eager student who received a scholarship to attend Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, however declined it to help his parents support their family. He had a strong work ethic and worked many years in the fields and packing houses before attaining a job in the grocery business in 1956, after graduating from high school. He started his career at Farmer’s Market in Sanger, and eventually was given opportunity to become the manager at Gong’s Market, his home away from home. He once said that the Gong family treated him as one of their own. He was loyal and respected, leading to a 53 year career.
Frank married his high school sweetheart, Esther Gallegos. They fell in love and were married for 63 wonderful years in which they raised 3 daughters, Lori, Yolanda, and Sandra (Sam). He was a faithful and loyal husband and father, and Esther a loyal wife as she lovingly cared for him as his health declined.
Frank enjoyed his free time as a collector of antiques. He started with a few antique cameras, which grew into many unique items. He was also very creative and was a talented artist, sketching cartoons, or simply drawing pictures of people. In addition, Frank loved to dance. He twirled his beloved wife on the dance floor at weddings, parties, or anywhere there was Mexican music. He continued to dance later in his years, even after losing his eyesight and then while in his wheelchair.
Frank was also a devout Catholic and member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, as well as being a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed his role as a Eucharistic Minister, and other roles related to church service. He also sang in the choir until he could no longer attend Mass because of declining health.
Frank loved his growing family and was very proud and devoted to them. He truly loved being with them and talked proudly of them. He was a very gentle and kind father with a larger than life sense of humor, even during stressful times. But mostly he cherished his time with family and loved them with a love that melted their hearts.
Frank leaves behind his beloved wife Esther; brother Robert Orozco; daughters Lori Orozco(Tom), Yolanda (Robert Juarez), Sandra (Phillip) Anderson; Grandchildren Narciso Juarez, Solidad (Jose) Benavides, Phillip Anderson III, Elijah Anderson; beloved dogs; Chico and Chewy Orozco, also are Frank’s many nieces, nephews, extended family, and beloved friends.
We will miss you Papa. You have blessed us with your presence and will now rest with our Heavenly Father. You will forever be in our hearts. We love you!
