Shirley Gustafson and Shannon Jefferies (1984, 1988, 1994, 1995, 1997, 1998, 1999). He returned to campus in 2017 to as- sist Jefferies and will con- tinue to assist new head coach Mariah Roby.
Kitaoka founded the
Sierra Pacific Volley- ball Club in 1988, and also served as club direc- tor and head coach. He earned an associate’s de- gree in accounting from Reedley College in 1970, and graduated from Fresno State in 1973 with a degree in business ad- ministration.
• Anthony Montgom- ery, football — Montgom- ery was a strong-legged placekicker with great accuracy and a knack to always come through in the clutch. He was a first-team all-California selection as a freshman in Region II in 2003, and a two-time all-conference
selection for champion- ship Tiger teams.
Montgomery tied the school record with five field goals in a game against Sacramento City College, and had three field goals in a win over College of the Sequoias that propelled RC to the Producers Dairy Bowl
in 2004. The graduate of Central Valley Christian High School in Visalia kicked for Tigers teams that went 16-6 in two sea- sons.
After RC, Montgom- ery transferred to Boise State where he made 122 of 125 extra points (97.6 percent) and 19 of 24 field goals (79 percent). His game-winning kick against San Jose State preserved the Broncos’ undefeated season in 2006, and he was a per- fect 5-for-5 in PATs in the 43-42 Fiesta Bowl victory over Oklahoma.
At Boise State, Mont- gomery earned first team all-Western Athletic Con- ference and Academic All-Conference honors.
• Curtis Pasma, base- ball — Pasma was a dom- inant left-hander as a re- liever and starter for the Tigers in 2004-2005, set- ting a program strikeout record of 121. As a sopho-
more, he struck out 13 in seven innings against Moorpark, and fanned 17 West Hills batters in a complete game shutout win. That latter accom- plishment came just one day after striking out the side in a relief appear- ance.
The Madera High School product led all ju- nior college pitchers in innings pitched in 2004- 05 (111.2) before trans- ferring to the University of the Pacific. In 2007, Pasma was selected in the 36th round of the Major League Baseball draft by the Milwaukee Brewers. He played two seasons of pro ball, going 4-3 in 50 appearances with a 3.86 earned run average, six saves and 98 strikeouts in 93.1 innings pitched.
