Lizaola said the hardest part about ending her high school career would be when she took off the Eagles uni- form for the final time.
“It is going to be emotional,” Lizaola said. “Ev- ery time I get to wear this jer- seyIgettoshowwhatIcando and be humble and playing for God, my team and everybody who has taught me the game.”
Lizaola played catcher for the County Squad for three in- nings and had two at-bats.
She plans to attend Reed- ley College and play softball at the school.
“It was pretty cool. I know Immanuel struggles in soft- ball but to be out here repre- senting the school was awe- some and I give it all to God,” Lizaola said. “I plan to go to Reedley College and play and then hopefully transfer to a
four-year college to play soft- ball there.”
Guzman said she had mixed emotions playing inside Margie Wright Sta- dium. She was the starting first baseman for the County Squad and played one inning.
“Itwasfun,IamgladIgot to experience this and meet all these girls,” Guzman said. “I am proud to be the one to rep- resent Reedley High.”
Guzman, who is still de- ciding between attending Reedley College or Fresno City College, said that play- ing in the game was a perfect way to end.
Guzman helped lead the Reedley High Pirates softball team to three straight North Yo- semite League Championships.
“Softball has been part of my life since I was seven years old,” Guzman said. “Fin- ishing at the City/County All- Star Game was amazing. I had so many nerves and so many thoughts but I am glad I was blessed with the experience.”
