Jenna Guzman and Sa- mantha Lizaola stood on the field at Margie Wright Dia- mond at Fresno State on June 20, reminiscing about their times at Immanuel High and Reedley High Schools.
With the lights at the dia- mond beginning to shut off, Guzman and Lizaola real- ized their time as high school softball players had officially faded out.
Guzman represented the Pirates, while Lizaola repre- sented the Eagles one final time in the 37th Annual City/ County All-Star Game.
Both players played for the County team.
The annual City/County game brings together the best softball players from around the valley.
This year, the City team defeated the County squad 8-7.
Winning or losing wasn't important to Lizaola who was just happy to be chosen for the game.
“It was amazing,” Lizaola said. “It was a once in a life- time opportunity and getting to play with other players from around the Valley was good. I built new friendships
