Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at the age of 95 in Visalia, California. Joe was a loving and devoted husband; father, brother, uncle, friend, Nino, and beloved son. We are truly blessed to have received his love and affection.

He graduated from Orosi High School and Reedley College. Joe was awarded the US Army World War II Victory Medal and Korean Service Medal with Bronze Service Star.
Joe met the love of his life Carmen in 1953. Joe and Carmen were married on September 25, 1954. They began their marriage and raised a beautiful family of three children: Richard, Michael, and Patricia. Raised strong in his faith and a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Joe and Carmen passed their faith on to their children.
Joe and many of his brothers worked for their father Adrian Marquez Sr. in the farm labor contract business. Joe and his brother Adrian F. continued in the farm labor business and farmed tomatoes, peaches, nectarines and melons as an operation known as Marquez Brothers. This partnership began in the early 1960s and was also involved working for the turkey industry in avian reproduction. This business provided many opportunities for his brothers Benny, Arthur, Pete, Leroy, Stanley, Gilbert, Manuel, and Bernie. In addition, he was a past member of the Kiwanis International, Cutler-Orosi Latin American Club, and Lions Club International.
One of Joe’s mottos was ‘early to bed early to rise’ and he was always ready for the day before the sunrise. His favorite hobby was all forms of gambling from horse races to casino visits. Joe loved to visit with family, friends or strangers. In addition, Joe was an avid chess player always ready for a game.
Joe leaves behind children Richard (Patricia) Marquez of Granite Bay, Michael (Rachel) Marquez of Visalia, and Patricia (David) Marquez-Icardi of Hollister.
