“It’s always a great feel- ing to accomplish one of our goals,” Buckley said. “We have set the bar for our- selves and defending our league title each year is im- portant to us.”
The Pirates then ended the regular season on May 10 with a 11-1 victory over Hoover High at Reedley High School.
Reedley High finished the regular season 20-7-1 overall and 9-1 in the NYL.
Reedley High earned the No. 5 seed in the Central Section Division III playoffs and will play at No. 4 seed Tehachapi High on Thurs- day, May 17.

“We spent all season talking about playoffs. We want to play in that Valley Championship game,” Buck- ley said. “The girls have put in the work each day. Now we need to leave it all on the field.”

“Everyone knows when it comes to softball, it’s a mental game,” Buckley said. “I watched these girls work through it together and overcome some pretty tough obstacles. We are fighters.”
RHS Baseball
The Pirates ended the regular season with two straight wins over Hoover High School.
The Pirates earned the No. 11 seed in the Division III playoffs and played Im- manuel High on May 15.

Reedley High beat Hoover High 5-1 on May 8 in Reedley, then defeated Hoover 7-0 on May 10 in Fresno.
On May 8, Kevin Her- nandez was the winning the pitcher.
Roger Ortiz and Hernan- dez each had two RBIs.
On May 10, Oscar Lemus was the winning pitcher.
Jacob Franco had three RBIs.

The Reedley College Ti- gers softball teams season ended on May 12 with two losses to Ohlone College in the California Comunnity College NorCal Super Regionals.
The Tigers won the first game of the best of three se- ries 3-0 on May 11, before los- ing the second game 7-0 and the third game 5-3.
On May 11, Reedley Col- lege and Ohlone were tied 0-0 heading into the top of the seventh inning.
The Tigers scored three runs in the top of the seventh to take a 3-0 lead.
Julia Jimenez had two RBIs, while Aunika Castella- nos had one.
Emily Grimbleby was the winning pitcher.
She pitched a complete game and had 10 strikeouts.
Grimbleby ended the sea- son third in the state in strike- outs with 230.
On May 12, the Tigers needed one win to advance to the eight-team State Champi-
onship tournament.
Reedley College lost the
second game 7-0 which forced a deciding third game.
The Tigers lost the third game 5-3 which ended their season.
Mickayla Villarreal, Cas- tellanos and Katie Thompson each had one RBI.
The Tigers end the season with a 29-12-1 overall record and went 16-5 in the Central Valley Conference to win the CVC Championship.
It was the programs first con- fernece championship since 2015.
RC Men's Golf
The Reedley College men's golf team finished in fourth place at the California Community College Athletic Association State Champion- ship at Sandpiper Golf Club in Goleta, near Santa Barbara, on May 14.
The Tigers shot a two day total of 760 but lost a tie- breaker to Orange Coast Col- lege, who finished in third place.
Kevin Hernandez, Reedley High Pirates pitcher, allowed only one run in the Pirates' 5-1 win over Hoover High on May 8 at Reedley High School.
