Sentinel staff report
Cutler-Orosi Joint Unified School District held its annual retirement and employee recognitions dinner on Thursday, May 9 at the Orosi High School gymnasium.
The “Fiesta” themed program included music by Orosi High’s Mariachi Cardenal.
District Superintendent Yolanda Valdez and Board President Rebecca Jimenez as well as the board of trustees were in attendance. Tulare County Supervisor Eddie Valero was also present.
The following individuals were recognized.
Retirement Recognitions: Tanya Goosev - 8 years of service; Arturo Yanez - 13 years; Laurie
Stohl – 21 years; Ken Whitworth – 22 years; Minerva Villareal - 22 years; Diana Guerra - 38 years.
School Employee of the Year: Olga Lopez – District Office; Maria Gomez – Cutler Elementary; Rudy Becerra – Golden Valley Elementary; Diana Arrambide – Palm Elementary School; Kimberly Bitanga - El Monte Middle School; Dee Echavarria – Alternative Education; Luz Brabila – Orosi High.
Teacher of the Year: Ninfa Ortega – Cutler Elementary; Sarah Gibson – Golden Valley Elementary; Melissa Knudson – Palm Elementary; Gladys Villa – El Monte Middle School; Kelsey DeJong – Orosi High.
Administrator of the Year: Norma Lupa – Golden Valley
